The up-and-coming country music meets indie band, The Ocho released their new single ‘Stand Up Boy’ on June 28th and this new song is too good to miss. This slower song shows off this incredibly talented group’s lyric combined with an electric sound.

Shimmer ‘94 is a brand-new band from Glasgow, and are comprised of former members from Shredd, Deathcats, Faiides, Bluebirds and Las Acuarelas. Are they a “supergroup” ? Too soon to tell, but they are following up their debut single, You Must Be Getting Used to This, with So Young, a “guitar-driven, jangly power pop” summer tune about lessons they were thought when they were young and naive by their elders, but still learning things the slightly harder way.

Joshua J is not a beginner artist but on the contrary. In fact, he has already conquered the hearts of many. He grew in popularity in 2019 after releasing his first album "1998", which served as a tribute to his mother and was also a kickstart to his music career. Travelling all over the world he performed live in venues with Anderson.Paak, Saba, and Col3trane.

Indie-rock artist Jordan Dean released yet another single out of the “From the Garage” series titled ‘Ride The Line’ on May 24th. This new single comes following the release of the single ‘The Way The World Is’ in early April.

Bratty pop-rock group, Sister Madds released their new single ‘Can’t Read Your Lips’ on May 17th and this new-generation love song undoubtably aims straight at the heart. The up-and-coming Glasgow band is best known for their support for Indie artists Connie Constance and ARXX, as well as being named on Vic Galloway of BBC Scotland’s “25 Scottish Artists to Watch in 2024”. Since their first release last January, the group has been dropping powerful singles that shed light on the difficulties of relationships, as well as the struggles this generation faces.

‘Just before you go’ is the debut single by upcoming artist Averie. Averie’s new track pushes the boundaries for alternative music. With a narrow bassline layered with jazz, Latin and percussion which takes listeners into a new groove. All this while telling the story of a romantic attraction between two people in a long-term relationship. Appealingly, the single describes not only the emotions but the physical sensations between two people.

If you are a massive football fan and were hoping this review was for a song about the French footballer player, Alexandre Lacazette, this is not that. Matty Marz’s new song, Lacazette, is more about empowering and gassing yourself up to conquer the world, as if you were a football forward for Lyon. It will put a pop in your step, while also make one curious of who’s behind it.

Indie and R&B singer, Malcolm Todd released the entirety of his album “Sweet Boy” on April 5th following the releases of the EPs “Sweet Boy Pt. 1” and “Sweet Boy Pt. 2,” along with six single releases stemming all the way back to April 2023. It’s safe it say every song on this album is a must hear.

Irish singer-songwriter, Sarah O’Moore is set to release her newest single on March 29th followed by her debut EP titled “Sleep Paralysis.” ‘Troubled Mind’ draws inspiration from James Joyce’s book Dubliners and turns it into a story about the hardship faced by youth today. The song gives a glimpse into the EP that is set to release on April 28th and shows off the heavy emotions this release is set to bring. The EP is set to take listeners on a journey through the hardships people face through their everyday human experiences, tacking topics such as domestic abuse and addiction.

Indie rock and soul duo, Bird and Byron released a new single on February 29th titled ‘My Love Still Remains.’ The Nashville based duo includes Blake Bird and Nick Byron, two childhood friends who met up after graduating college and decided to pursue their musical dreams. The duo moved to Columbus where they would make weekly “One Take Tuesday” posts, which were social media posts of them singing covers or original songs. These posts helped the duo draw attention from the original artists and celebrities, such as Coldplay and James Taylor. 

Alex Kolo is a young aspiring artist who is only 20 and has already travelled the world studying and discovering new cultures while implementing them in her music. Alex has influence of German, Dutch and Polish cultures in her art. Right now, she studies at Belmont University and is set to create music which is a passion of her heart.

Indie and R&B artist, Malcolm Todd dropped his new EP titled “Sweet Boy Pt1.” On February 1st, and this five-song release gives listeners a glimpse into the creative mind of Malcolm Todd.

Indie garage group, Orange Dog Club released a new set of singles on December 15th, 2023, titled “Summer is Dying.” The release contains three songs including ‘That’s What I Get,’ ‘I Wanna Go Home,’ and ‘Why Don’t You Adore Me?’ The Buffalo, New York based group birthed from the mind of Tim Turner dropped their first single in August of 2022 titled ‘Feel Inside’ and continues to drop uniquely curated singles. After playing their first gig nameless, the group came up with the name Orange Dog Club after using a random band name generator while at a talent show for the University of Buffalo’s Filipino American Student Association.
