The Tropicanas| Delaydeez

Weekly Feature: March 5th 2023 | Written By Kirsten Moreton

The Tropicanas are a band from Livingston, Scotland, who’s music combines elements of alternative, dreampop, and psychedelic rock. The group released their debut album Pick and Mix 26 in 2016 and have since have released a number of tracks and been playing shows across the country. Their latest track Delaydeez which is described by the group as a smooth ‘melancholic track’ is set to drop the on 10th of March, the same day which the band are playing a headline show at Bannermans, in Edinburgh.

Delaydeez begins with uplifting synth, drums and guitar, kicking off with pleasnt tones that will remind listeners of summer time. The track is incredibly up beat with atmospheric synth and peaceful vocals making it an incredible listen to kick off the week on a good note. The track goes really well with their other music, shuffling The Tropicanas on Spotify is a journey reccomended for any music lovers, especially those fond of upbeat indie music with nothing but good vibes. The group’s social media bio describes them as the ‘tropical surf band from outerspace’, a description that surprisingly fits the track perfectly. The up and coming groups music is incredibly underrated providing incredible talent from each member, high quality mixing and mastering as well as fantastic songwriting.

Delaydeez is no exception of this including all of the above. It is definitely worth a listen and a must add to any playlist. Pressing play on this track is like being transported somewhere sunny and laughing with friends, so make sure to give Delaydeez a download when it drops on the 10th of March

The Tropicanas will also be playing Bannermans in Edinburgh and tickets can be purchased here.
