Normal Fears | Fatherson

Weekly Feature: February 12th 2023 | Written By Samira Talbi

Fatherson are a Scottish alternative rock band, founded in East Ayrshire in 2010. During their active years, they have so far released four studio albums, with the latest one being Normal Fears which was released in early 2022. Their latest album even reached the top 5 in Scotland, charting at #2 on the Scottish album chart. To this date their biggest tour was in 2012, where the group played in the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh and the Garage in Glasgow. In July 2022 they were one of the main acts for a new Music Festival called the Making Waves, which was held in Irvine, Ayrshire.

Their latest album could be seen as an assortment of songs based on letting go. Their playful songs groovy sounds and electronics make this topic a bit more light-hearted. The album focuses on darker themes without losing the band’s usual playfulness. Normal People is their lead single for this album and is focused on recent news and how the media tends to be based around troubles and negativity.
