Eleven Fifteen - ‘Give What You Take’ | Single Review

October 2 | Written By Becca Stokes

Since their first release, which came from the difficult confines of lockdown in 2020, Midlands-based band Eleven Fifteen have compiled an alluring discography. ‘Give What You Take’, released on September 17th, is the latest track to grace their growing music catalog- and it does not disappoint. It is vulnerable yet confident and it masters the perfect balance between teasing the listener and giving them exactly what they want.

Eleven Fifteen Band

‘Give What You Take’ is a seductive track; boasting brazen guitar riffs and the smooth, captivating vocals of lead-singer Georg Smith, it delves into a tale of forbidden love and getting up to no good. Inspired by the likes of Royal Blood, Queens of the Stone Age and Nothing But Thieves, the band have curated a classic and timeless sound that will appeal to hard-rockers and indie-lovers alike.

‘You’re driving, you’re talking to me, you’re saying things I want to hear’; Eleven Fifteen are skillful and intentional in their lyricism, taking the time to set a scene that will bring life to the entire track. With lyrics like ‘We’re going round in circles screaming’ and ‘I’ve lost control and I don’t want it back’, ‘Give What You Take’ drags the audience straight into the chaos and smiles in the face of danger- just what you would expect from a track so pumped full of adrenaline.

Give What You Take by Eleven Fifteen

Whether it’s singing, songwriting, production or knowing how to handle an instrument that you’re after, this band has got it down. Eleven Fifteen are consistent in showing promise in not only their song-writing capabilities, but their ability to perform- whether it be on their recordings or at a sold-out headline show. If what you need is an irresistibly sultry soundtrack this September, ‘Give What You Take’ is available now to stream on all platforms, alongside the bands’ previous releases.
