Jordan Dean - ‘The Way The World Is - From The Garage | Single Review

June 12 | Written By Lauren Ketterl

Indie rock artist Jordan Dean released his new single ‘The Way the World Is- From The Garage’ on April 12th, the first song from his new “From The Garage” series and this new song proves why Jordan Dean is a must hear artist.

The Cleveland, Ohio raised artist has been releasing music since 2019, when he dropped the single titled ‘Gone’ and the rest is history. With two EPs already under his belt, Dean has managed to define himself through his tasteful songwriting and unique sound. He has leaned more towards an alternative sound to show off his creative sound but has recently skewed more into the direction of rock. He released a cover of the band Them ft. Van Morrison song ‘Gloria (Live at Bad Racket)’, and it certainly shows off those rock elements.

With influence from artists such as alternative rock bands Artic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, and The Kinks largely appearing in this new single, it shows off the rock side of Dean, and new song sounds like it’s straight off one of The Stroke’s albums.

This song has a nostalgic feel of an early 2010 indie rock banger talking about the truths of life and accepting your choices because that’s the way the world is. The lyrics “You could make a statement all across the world. Don’t you know it isn’t hard to make a choice like that, you make it all the time,” favors the concept of accepting your choices and living with the consequences. The guitar riffs and amplified sound help to deliver that classic vintage indie rock sound to back the expressive lyrics.

Overall, this song should influence listeners to check out more of Jordan Dean’s music and explore the extraordinary discography he has released and stick around for what else is to come.
